Luxurious wildlife safaris in Kenya

4 Days / 3 Nights-Maasai Mara (Migration Season )Luxurious Wildlife Flying Safari.
Trip Highlights: This is a three days safari which starts from Nairobi's Wilson Airport and flies you over Nairobi onwards to the Great Rift Valley where you will have a spectacular view of the only earth feature that can be seen while in space – The Rift Valley. Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival -Nairobi City
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport from Hartsfield- Jackson Atlanta International Airport, via Dakar, Senegal, you will be met by our tour manager who will brief you on your safari before transferring you to your hotel for dinner and overnight. Dinner and Overnight at Serena Hotel in Nairobi or Hilton Hotel.

Day 2: Nairobi – Maasai Mara
After breakfast at 8.00 am, you will be transferred to the Wilson airport for your flight to Maasai Mara departing at 10.15 am. You will then arrive at Maasai Mara airstrip after one hour where you will be picked up by our tour guide from the airstrip to the lodge. After Lunch, you will have an afternoon game viewing drive till dusk.

In November 2006, the Maasai Mara was named as the New 7th wonder of the world because of what experts termed as "the uniqueness of the area and the preservation it provides to so many species living in harmony." It is understandable because this annual migration is the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth. The Maasai Mara National Reserve is 270 km from Nairobi, a five hour drive or 45 min by air. For a full package of scenery, game and the ultimate bush experience, the Mara is the place to be. The National Reserve was the shooting location for the film Out of Africa and remains the location for the British Broadcasting Corporation's big cat wildlife series. The resting place of the big five, the reserve's major attraction is the great wildebeests and zebras migration from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Mara. This annual event happens between July and September and is the greatest show on earth. These animals cross over to Kenya through the Mara River. You are bound to see the pretentious crocodiles lazing away under the water only to dramatically break out of their sleep and snap up the migrating wildebeests and zebra. Day 3: Maasai Mara
Pre-breakfast morning game drive which gives you the chance to see animals hunting, thereafter back to the lodge for lunch.

Afternoon you can go for game drive or relax by the pool or visit the Maasai villages.

The Masai as a tribe are so significant due to their culture. Starting from their dress code, the color red is so significant in that they scare away wild animals as they co-exist with them. They believe that God, Enkai, gave them cattle, therefore they believe that all the cattle belongs to them. That's the reason why they have been known due to their cattle rustling. Although the Maasai are known for their nomadic life and cattle keeping, they is a group of agricultural Maasai, known as IL Loikop, are look down upon by the cattle keeping group, the Wakwavi since they believe they are the true Masai' created to keep cattle.

A Maasai Homestead (enkang popularly known as the Manyattas) is made from cow dung and wooden sticks from the leleshwa plant. Women are the ones responsible for putting up these magnificent homes. However, a homestead contains several Maasai houses which are surrounded by a fence made also by branches of the leleshwa plant where the herds of goats and cows are confined in during the night hours. There are other Manyattas made far away in the wilderness during their Morans as they prepare their headset, the motonyik, before they return home. Day 4: Maasai Mara -Nairobi
Pre-breakfast game view drive. After breakfast proceed to the airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi. Arriving in Nairobi at 12.00 noon or 5.00p.m and enjoy a complimentary dinner / lunch at the famous Carnivore Restaurant. Afterwards transfer to the airport for your connecting flight to your next destination.

The wildebeests are the most dominant inhabitants of the Masai Mara. Their numbers are estimated in the millions. The great migration starts in July each year when well over one million wildebeest along with large numbers of Thompson's gazelles, zebra and other herbivores migrate from the Serengeti plains in Tanzania to fresh pastures in the north and then back south again in October. 7 Days / 6 Nights-Kenya at its Best Wildlife Safari

Day 2: Nairobi - Maasai Mara
After breakfast we will pick you up from your hotel, and depart for Maasai Mara game reserve, which is commonly known for the 'big five'. It takes about five hours to get there via Narok the only Maasai town. Arrive in time for lunch, then embark on an afternoon game drive. The Maasai Mara National Reserve as one of the most popular tourist destinations in Kenya covers an area of over 1,500 sq. km. it is located in the Great Rift valley in an open primarily grassland where wildlife tends to be most concentrated on the reserves western escarpment. The swampy land provides more access to water and less access to tourists. The Eastern end is closest to Nairobi and hence easier to access by tourists.

There have been some 95 species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 birds species recorded on the Masai Mara Reserve. Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant, and it is for this reason a visitor hardly misses to see the big five (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion and rhino.)

Day 3: Maasai Mara (Full Day)
Spend the whole day game viewing with a lunch break en route or opt to go and visit the Maasai people in the afternoon and learn about their cultural practices and their unique way of living. Day 5: Tsavo West National Park
After a buffet breakfast embark on a game drive with a picnic lunch en route with chances of seeing the Big five that make Kenya proud, these are the man eaters of Tsavo - the Lion, the enormous Elephant, the shy and elusive Rhino, the strong Buffalo and finally the fast one, the Cheetah.

The park has an interesting and diverse history including: the Waliangulu and Kamba tribes used the park as a hunting ground prior to gazettement; the first European to see Mount Kenya, rev. Dr. L. Krapf, journeyed on foot through this area in 1848; during the construction of the railway bridge over the Tsavo River in 1898, lions (the famed man-eaters of Tsavo) terrorized the workers, killing over 130 people before being killed by Col. J. H. Patterson. During World War 1, British forces along the Tsavo river to counter threats from invading German soldiers from Tanganyika (now Tanzania); the European explorer Captain Lugards a European explorer passed through the area on his way to Uganda. Day 6: Tsavo West
Today awake early for a pre - breakfast game drive to get a chance to see the dangerous predators at their best hunting action. In the afternoon visit the Mzima Springs and learn how its channeled waters are used to supply water to the warm coastal city of Mombasa.

Tsavo West National Park is a vast expanse of Savannah stretching from Mtito Andei, along the Mombasa - Nairobi road south to the Tanzania border. The north eastern boundary along the highway adjoins Tsavo east National park but Tsavo west has more varied topography and more diverse array of habitats than its neighbor. Lunch, Dinner and overnight at Finch Hutton's Luxury tented camp. FB.

Day 7: Tsavo – Nairobi - Departure
After breakfast depart for Nairobi with a final game drive en route arriving in time for a complimentary lunch at the famous Carnivore Restaurant a heaven for sumptuous and sweet tasting African cuisines. Thereafter transfer to the airport or hotel depending on your flight schedule.

After lunch, at 4.00pm, you will have the option to go for a game drive or at an extra cost, visit a nearby Maasai village to see their nomadic lifestyle. Both activities will end at the lodge in the mid evening where you will retire for the night after dinner.

Maasai Mara: The abundance and variety of game in this reserve is nothing short of amazing. Practically every mammal can be seen in the Mara with a few expectations. Various antelopes, scavengers like hyena and vulture are common. The reserve contains all the cats that are; lion, cheetah and leopard; sighting leopard needs luck more than just being there but lions are abundant and there are excellent chances for spotting cheetah. The hippo is a popular spot to watch out for hippos; with luck, you may catch crocodile basking on the rocks. Elephants, buffalo, the Maasai giraffe, wildebeest and the common zebra abound. Day 4: Maasai Mara - Lake Nakuru
Early morning Game viewing drives before breakfast thereafter proceed to Lake Nakuru National park. Lunch will be served en route.

Or take; Balloon Safari at 6.00 am
This is a memorable experience . Then proceed to lake Nakuru National park.

On arrival you will have an afternoon game viewing drive before dusk. Dinner and Overnight at Lion Hill Lake Nakuru Lodge. FB.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru - Samburu
Wake up to an early morning game viewing drive in Lake Nakuru National Park.

Lake Nakuru: Flamingos and other birds that thrive in a salt-water environment can be seen. With luck you may track the white rhino and the Rothschild giraffe which both have endangered species status. The spark is 188Km and is home to cats (both lion and leopard), various antelopes, grazers like warthog and then water buck and Cape buffalo that breed near the shoreline. After the game drive, depart Nakuru for Samburu via the Thompson falls, which are named after Joseph Thompson, one of the first European explorers who walked from Mombasa to Lake Victoria in the 1880's.

Lunch will be at Nanyuki, which is at the foothills of Mt. Kenya. Enter Samburu National Park in the evening, with a game viewing drive en-route to the camp / Lodge where you will retire for the night after dinner. Dinner and overnight at Ashnil's Samburu tented camp or similar.

Day 6: Samburu
Morning and afternoon game viewing drive in Samburu with a lunch and leisure break in the mid afternoon.

Samburu: The reserve is home to rare drought resistant animals that are peculiar to the semi-arid region north of the equator. These include the reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, the Beisa Oryx, gerenuk and the blue-shacked Somali ostrich. Samburu is dry most of the year but is watered by the Ewaso Nyiro River, which rises in the Aberdare's and drains in the Lorian swamp north of Shaba National Reserve. All Meals and overnight at Ashnil's Samburu tented camp or similar.

Day 7: Samburu -Nairobi - Amboseli National Park
Early morning you will be picked from your lodge then depart for Amboseli National Park. Lunch will be in Nairobi's Carnivore restaurant then proceed to Amboseli National Park, arriving in time for check in and game drive till dusk. Mt. Kilimanjaro, which forms a beautiful backdrop, can be seen from the park in clear weather. A variety of plains game, antelopes and birds can be seen plus the jumbo elephants and hippos which are found bathing in the swamp grounds which get tier waters from the melting snows of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Amboseli is renowned for its huge elephant herds. Africa's highest Mountain - Mt Kilimanjaro sits on the upper slopes of Amboseli National park. Mt. Kilimanjaro snow white peak lies across the border in Tanzania. Seeing the Kilimanjaro hovering above the clouds in the early hours of the morning is quite an experience. For the enthusiastic photographer, animal pictures arising against the dramatic backdrop of the mountain is quite a thrill. Apart from the Elephants, Amboseli is a home to; buffaloes, black rhinos, zebras, wildebeest and other plain animals. Dinner and overnight at the Amboseli Serena Lodge.

Day 8: Amboseli - Nairobi - Departure
Early morning game viewing drives before breakfast, thereafter, depart Amboseli for Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport arriving in time for your departure flight schedule. Parked lunch will be served en-route.
